Excellent Fishing Experience
Due to the hot weather recently, the local fisheries near me wasn’t fishing to well. A couple of my friends invited me to their area to go fly fishing and recommend that we fish Raven Nest. I jumped in my car and made a 4 hours drive there to meet them. I didn’t know what to expect as I’ve never been to this area before but on arrival I was very impressed with the setting and beautiful landscape, the owner was very friendly and helpful. I started fishing, not knowing what to expect and was impressed with how responsive the fish was with the air temperature being over 25 degrees. I can only describe this place as a mixture of lake fishing and river fishing combined. Between me and my friends we had an excellent day with fish to the net and I can’t wait for my next return visit. Would recommend that you call first as it could get busy

First time fly fishing. Staff were amazing, giving me advice, etc. I fished at this venue for just over 4 hours and caught 4 fish: 3 rainbow and 1 beautiful brown. 7 go fishing (and actually catch fish for our supper!)
Russell was a fabulous host. A group of 7 teenagers and adults with very little fishing experience - had us fishing for our supper straight away, and give advice on fly fishing for the less experienced. Wonderful sunny afternoon, very relaxing. Followed by an amazing dinner cooked by Russell - pizza for the non-fish eaters was fresh from the pizza oven and tasted lush, and our trout was cooked to perfection for our supper. Great outing even for novices

Peaceful camping break
Great place to camp and and enjoy the peaceful scenery and sound of the river cascading over the weir. Russ is very knowledgeable about fishing the river and offered some great tips for the novice Fly Fisher (and impatient). The woods fired pizza was delicious and the bonus of being able to BBQ your catch was a great touch.
